This report describes the study tour of the Wind4Bio project to the prospective wind farm site in the Zemgale Region, the Kaigu peat bog, managed by “Laflora Energy” company. One of Laflora’s development goals is to transform previously peat extraction sites into a joint wind and solar energy project with a green industrial zone.
The visit was organized by the NGO Green Liberty and was divided in two parts, a guided bus tour through the peat bog and a discussion session with presentations from stakeholders representing the energy sector and a nature protection agency. During the discussion, good practices applied by the company for the development of the wind park site were presented and analysed.
